welcome all to learn know and bring about a change.
It's not uncommon for a sick child to not eat and drink. If this extends 3 days or gets added with vomiting or loose stools. It's very likely that child will have less liquid in body to maintain the normal vigour. This will make child feel more weak and sick and again reduce the intake or lay down in bed. This may also in addition reduce immunity and make the infection grow stronger. It's important that during sickness child eats or drinks enough to stay alert active and interactive. If not hydrated properly with enough water to make child pass urine at least 6-8 times a day; it's not unusual that ur pediatrician will advice hospital based treatment with IV fluids and supervised care. Don't deny it. Don't force it. Let your doctor give you a choice. #DrSK #ChildSpecialistMumbai
